Fontana Arte
Fontana Arte S.p.A was founded in Milan (Fontana Arte) in 1932 by Gio Ponti and Luigi Fontana and initially specialized in glass processing and manufacturing home furnishings, quickly becoming a leader of Italian design. During those years they began designing lamps, paying attention to the details of materials and finishes thanks to their experience in glass working and materials. During its history thay have produced lamps that have become design icons.
In 1998, the Italian Association for Industrial Design (ADI) awarded the Compasso d’Oro for career to FontanaArte, highlighting in its reasons how the company, by involving different designers, had managed to create a lively creative climate that had upgraded one of the historic names in Italian design.
While being the most illustrious recognition for FontanaArte, this award is by no means the only one.
During the eighty years of its history a huge number of products have received important awards on both a national and international level.
