Vico Magistretti
Vico Magistretti (October 6, 1920 - September 19, 2006), was an Italian industrial designer, dedicated to furniture and architecture.
He graduated in 1945 at the Polytechnic of Milan. During the 50s he devoted himself to designing mass-produced furniture. Some of his lamps are famous, such as the Eclisse lamp.
In the late 40s he participated in several editions of the Milan Triennale and in 1956 he is one of the founding members of ADI, the Association for Industrial Design. He has collaborated with major companies and his works are in the permanent collections of major museums around the world.
He has received no less than four Compasso d'Oro by Eclisse lamp, Atollo lamp and chair Maralunga, and another one for his career (1995).
