Joan Gaspar

Joan Gaspar (Barcelona 1966) studied industrial design at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, ​​and is one of the most active designers in Catalonia.

In 1988 he started to work for VAPOR SA dedicated to manufacturing minimalist lamps. Since 1992 collaborates with various companies in the creation of new product lines: Rock, Resol, Marset, Mobles114, Perobell, Santa & Cole, DAE, Vilagrasa, Made Design.

From 1996 he works very closely with the company Marset Lighting, dedicated to the developement of new product. He also collaborates with the product direction of the company.

His work has been selected several times for the FAD awards.
In 1995 he won first prize in the Furniture of the Community of Castilla la Mancha and in 2000, first prize at the International Competition of the Furniture Fair of Valencia.
In 2001 he was awarded the Silver Delta for the Atlas series and in 2005 by the neon light, both manufactured by Marset lighting.

Since 1998, he teaches Materials and Technology applied to Industrial Design at the Elisava School of Barcelona.

In 2002, he opened a professional office in Barcelona dedicated to industrial design, working with various companies in the design of new products.
